Frequently Asked Questions About Neuromodulators

What is a neuromodulator?

Neuromodulators are a highly purified form of a naturally occurring bacteria Clostridium botulinum, and are used in aesthetic medicine for improved cosmetic appearance. At Mint, we use three of the health Canada approved brands, botox, dysport and nuceiva.

How many units will I need?

The amount of units needed varies from patient to patient depending on the area to be treated, your facial anatomy, muscle strength etc. You will be able to discuss this with the doctor during your consultation.

Will it look like I’ve had work done?

No. Having a qualified and experienced injector with extensive experience and an artful eye is the best way to achieve your desired goal.

Do neuromodulators hurt?

No Most patients are relieved to discover their experience was far better than they imagined! You may feel a slight sting with the injection but the actual procedure is very quick, and rest assured, we have many ways to help lessen your discomfort during your visit.

Will I see results right away?

Neuromodulators typically begin to take effect 3-4 days after your procedure, and take upto 2 weeks for the full effect. We recommend waiting the full 2 weeks before booking a touch up, if needed.
