Developing Healthy Habits at an Early Age
Our health habits begin early in life. We enjoy educating parents and children on adopting the healthiest habits. We continuously advance our training in pediatric care. Some of our NDs have trained with world-renowned Pediatrician Dr. Jack Newman at his breastfeeding clinic in Toronto. We have also completed certification in Advanced Obstetrics and Pediatric Care with Dr. Cathy Carlson-Rink ND RM. Our naturopathic doctors believe in only using safe treatments to help with children’s health problems including infections, skin conditions like eczema, and other common health concerns of childhood. Wellness checks are important in our practice to prevent illness and we often develop programs for parents to follow their child’s health progress. During Wellness Checks we discuss many topics such as postpartum healing, teething, food introduction, frequent colds, sleep disorders and breastfeeding weaning as well as many others.
Food allergies are also a common question for children. Foods have been implicated from symptoms like stomach pain to conditions like ADD. A simple allergy test can be the difference between a child who can’t focus in school to one who can because we have uncovered their food allergy.
Chiropractic Children’s Care
Supporting infants and children as they grow
Many parents choose to have their newborns checked to ensure proper alignment. As the child grows, they go through many milestones such as learning to hold up their heads, sit, crawl and walk and these are important times to have a child checked by a Doctor of Chiropractic. Finding a great pediatric chiropractor can help a child achieve a healthy functioning nervous system, that equates to a healthy mind, body, and spirit that is self-healing and self-regulating.
Unfortunately, more kids than ever today are developing issues with headaches, posture and neck pain, due in large part to the number of young people spending their days slumped over cell phones, tablets and other electronic devices. Regular adjustments can help counter these effects and prevent children from developing serious posture, spine and neck issues early on in life.
Whether your child starts at 17 days old or 17 years old, it is always a good time for young people to start chiropractic care.
