Dr Parmar strongly believes that naturopathic medicine has the answers to prevent and treat many health concerns. Naturopathic physician’s scope as practitioners is broad encompassing herbal therapies, acupuncture, a great variety of testing methods including food allergies, injection therapies, nutrition, lifestyle counselling, hormone therapy and conventional prescription medications including specialized compounding. That’s a lot! With such an array of tools to choose from patients can trust to get the most appropriate and effective treatments tailored to their personalized needs. Our health can be very complicated as can be the potential solutions. Dr. Parmar can help you navigate these waters as well to advocate for you when you might need a professional voice of support.
Dr. Parmar obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Kinesiology, Psychology and the Humanities at Simon Fraser University. He proceeded to complete naturopathic medical training at the premiere institution the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. He is also licensed as a Registered Acupuncturist in good standing with the CTCMA. Going on 13 years working in Kitsilano Vancouver he is practicing in a highly collaborative care wellness clinic called Mint Integrative Health. He co-founded the clinic with Dr. Alana Shaw ND RAc and Dr. Giselle Chamberlain DC.
Dr. Parmar highly values the importance of education. He co-founded Campfire Professional Development in Medicine. He also supervised naturopathic interns in their 3rd and 4th year of education for ten years and taught multiple in class courses including Genetics, Geriatrics, and Master’s Classes. He also works as a Key Opinion Leader for Lifelabs. He lectures on various medical topics to diverse groups of health professionals including MDs and NDs. Dr. Parmar has also presented at the British Columbia Naturopathic Conference (2019) and the Collaborative Education Conference (2018).
Dr. Parmar stays engaged with the community by working with multiple organizations giving workshops to members of the Canadian Health Association, The Arthritis Society of BC and Yukon, and the Earthsave Society of Canada. He has also previously served on the Board of Directors for the British Columbia Naturopathic Association and the Friends for Life Society.
