We’ve combined the regenerative benefits of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and the skin smoothing results of neuromodulators into a beautifully restorative skin treatment. PRP is a natural and highly effective skin rejuvenation treatment that harnesses the regenerative power of your own blood. A micro-dose of botox provides skin tightening, minimizes pore size and controls oil production to reduce the appearance of fine lines, crepey texture, acne and rosacea. This treatment also targets dullness and uneven texture. The ultimate in facial skin renewal!
Botox is actually a brand name of one of the neuromodulators available for injection in Canada. Neuromodulators are a highly purified form of a naturally occurring bacteria Clostridium botulinum. At Mint, we use three of the health Canada approved neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport and Xeomin).
You will feel very little in most cases. A light stinging sensation is usually the only sensation, as we use numbing cream for this treatment to ensure your comfort.
For a maximal harvest of good quality growth serum, patients typically undergo a few weeks of ‘prep’ prior to their treatment to ensure the serum extracted for injection is of excellent quality. PRP prep may include increasing water intake, increasing nutrient status with dietary modification, nutrient supplementation or IV Nutrient Therapy alongside supporting sleep, energy and stress levels. Although not everyone is a suitable candidate for PRP therapy, many patients are able to experience the results of treatment once they’ve addressed and improved upon their health. A consultation with Dr. Overton, ND is encouraged prior to undergoing PRP therapy; this will help determine your eligibility for this treatment and allow her your plan your path to healthier skin.
Patients may except minor swelling, bruising and redness for 3-4 days after their treatment. Patients may also experience some dryness and flaking of the skin as they are healing. Often side-effects are mild and resolve quickly, however it is always best to plan your treatments around vacations and special events by at least 2 weeks.
Results typically begin to take effect 3-4 days after your procedure, and take up to 2 weeks for the full effect. We recommend waiting the full 2 weeks before booking a post-procedure visit, if needed.
This is something your doctor will determine during your consultation, based on the area to be treated and your aesthetic goals. Often a series of 3-6 treatments is initially recommended, followed by a yearly treatment to maintain your results.
