What is Integrative Medicine with a GP?

What you always hoped family medicine could be and should be.

Integrative Medical Doctors are the medical doctors you know well as your traditional GP, but with a twist. In addition to the care you are already familiar with there is a greater emphasis on you as an individual, not just the disease. There is emphasis on prevention as well as treatment. There is a special focus on spending time with you to thoroughly understand who you are as a person in order to thoughtfully develop a plan to help you be the best version of yourself possible.

Working Together, Collaboratively

You wanted a team, you got a team.

Dr. Wilson works closely with other Mint practitioners. We share our knowledge and understanding of you, with each other. This is unique even in Integrative Medicine because we often don’t see a multi-practitioner team collaborate so frequently and intimately on your behalf. The combining of our expertise is what we think is at the essence of wellness. This approach should be the standard in healthcare. We will continue to  strive to be an exemplary clinic towards the vision we have for healthcare.

Dr. Wilson’s Approach

Dr. Wilson believes in the importance of the relationship between the practitioner and the patient, focusing on the whole person, utilizing evidence based interventions and making use of all appropriate therapeutic and lifestyle approaches, health care professionals, and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing. Health promotion and the prevention illness is paramount and effective interventions that are natural and less invasive are utilized whenever possible.

Integrative General Practitioner

Testing, Treatment and Specialist Referrals

Not only do you still get to medically understand what is going on with your health, you can deep dive all aspects of it. Individualized and personalized medicine means, using the tools we have to investigate and assess your health and interpreting them in the context of YOU. You aren’t an average. You aren’t a statistic within or outside of a range. You are unique and your healthcare should reflect that.

Integrative General Practitioners successfully marry the worlds of conventional testing and treatments with the holistic principles and treatments  of wellness medicine.

We are honoured to offer Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrea Wilson MD at Mint.
